Halloween is this Friday, can you believe it? Then we’ll be jumping right into Thanksgiving and Christmas… eeeek! This Friday also marks the beginning of Dia de Los Muertos celebrations. We’ve always admired the Mexican tradition of remembering family and friends who have passed away in such a beautiful and colorful way. If you’re partaking in the festivities with your loved ones, here are a few great party ideas we’ve found across the webs.

Dia de los muertos is a meaningful holiday for people with Mexican heritage. It is not a costume or a cutesy backdrop for a birthday party. I know calaveras are very trendy right now, but this is inappropriate and appropriative. We should be respectful of the beliefs and culture of other people, instead of turning them into empty commodities, costumes, and decorations.
