Categories   DIY + Crafts

As promised, Lauren W. Photography is here to share an easy-to-follow DIY baby’s breath flower crown tutorial for the crowns seen in this sweet mother-daughter photoshoot. They’re not as hard as you might have thought they were to make. Lauren lays it all out perfectly. Now you have no reason not to make one this weekend!

Supplies: Baby’s Breath or desired florals (I used less than one bunch), floral wire, pliers or scissors.

Step 1: Break off small pieces of Baby’s Breath and cut approx. 2.5 inch pieces of wire. About ten wire pieces will do to start.

Step 2: Take two pieces of Baby’s Breath and lay them side by side. Move one piece up a little higher and secure together with floral wire.

Step 3: Add a third piece with the base a little higher than the base of the second piece and secure with floral wire. Continue adding pieces in this fashion. Occasionally measure the florals to your head/model’s head to make sure you don’t make it too long or too short.

Step 4: Once the crown is the right length secure the ends together with floral wire.

Step 5: Your crown will likely look a little patchy at this point. Fill in any bare areas with extra Baby’s Breath and try to cover the floral wire if possible.

If your first attempt isn’t what you expected don’t despair! Sometimes it takes a little practice. Bonus: once you’re done with the crown you can hang it as a sweet little wreath.

Thanks so much, Lauren!
