Morning, friends! We’ve got the sweetest boho first birthday shoot for you this morning, from mama and blogger Mary of Mary Rose Photography. Being in the midst of a move when Adeline’s first rolled around, she wanted to do something special to celebrate that *wasn’t* a stressful, elaborate party. Instead, Mary gathered up all of baby’s fave things from her first year and worked with a crew of small shops and local biz to create a bohemian playdate for A and her pals.

Mary says, Adeline’s first birthday was inspired by the hard work of her favorite shops. Nearly every item included in the party was designed or created by a small business. EDEN, the floral design company, covered the party with pink and white flowers and greenery. The owner Jordan had the idea for a balloon arch to add a touch of fun and whimsy. She hung gold hoops from a nearby tree to frame the swing and as a backdrop to the mats.

Boho mamas, you’re probably pretty thrilled to come across this stunning macrame baby swing, huh? They’re handcrafted by Adelisa & Co in Nicaragua and all look pretty darn gorgeous.

Brenda’s Pop Shop whipped up these floral cake pops. Aren’t they incredible?!

Mary’s story… Before I gave birth to my daughter Adeline, I spent hours planning for her arrival. I researched the best stroller, the best crib mattress, and designed a beautiful nursery. It was my nesting process; I worked hard to find the very best I could to make sure my daughter arrived in a safe, loving, and beautiful environment. As I researched all day every day, I discovered something on Instagram previously unknown to me. It all started when I found a sweet watercolor floral swaddle on Pinterest that led me to an Etsy shop. I followed this shop on Instagram, and this shop led me to another shop, which led me to another shop, which led me to another shop. Suddenly I was following all these shops with sweet handmade and unique baby items made by other small business owners. I fell in love with these shop owners, many of them mothers, who were supporting their families by designing beautiful clothes, toys, bows, swaddles, and more for other babies.

Such a sweet way to celebrate little A *and* connect with some lovely people. Find their links below!
