Planning your own kiddo’s birthday party as an event design pro is probably just as challenging as it is exciting. Super cool that you get to put on something spectacular for them, but you really want to be inventive and come up with allll the ideas. Just a little pressure, right? Especially when they’re at an age that they just really want a good ol’ theme party. Jacquelyn of Beijos Events‘ little man Court is all about superheros so it was a no brainer, but that didn’t stop her from putting a modern spin on it. Thanks to Nea Nabayan for sharing the photos!

J tells it, My husband and I are David Bowie fans and the lyrics, “We can be heroes, just for one day,” came to mind when I was planning this party. So I took that and added it into the mix a bit with signage, the amazing Bowie planters from Luna Reece Ceramics and the disco balls. 

So many modern party ideas just in one shot, right?

Ditto. Meghann Miniello‘s lettering gets us every time.

And Poppy Jack Shop was behind the calligraphy on the capes.

One of the things I love most about my son Court is his imagination and that he loves to dress up.  Each day is a costume and a character. This past year we went from a pirate to a ninja turtle, to batman, to spider man and I don’t even know what else!  But really his favorites have been super heroes for quite a while. It can be hard sometimes with themed parties but I wanted to try and take a fresh take on it.  

Really neat that mama chose to play to little man’s vivid imagination when putting all the details together.

Spiderman, naturally! We hear this guy was a major hit.
