Modern rainbow 5th birthday party

Hello, Cakelets, Jillian here! I’m so excited to share my sons 5th birthday with you all. Before we jump in I’d love for you to take a quick peek at Liam’s 1st and 3rd birthday party celebrations too! The first birthday is always more about your friends and the fact that you made it. For Liam’s 3rd birthday we wanted an intimate festive celebration. For his 5th birthday, we knew we wanted a much bigger affair to incorporate all his new friends, (about 18 kids + 15 adults) but stick to a tight budget of under $500.00.

Here are a few was we were able to pull it off:

1) Rent a bouncy house
2). Purchase affordable colorful party decorations and balloons from here and here
3). Order pizza and get a pony keg for the adults
4). Rent affordable rentals from the local rental house.

Once we had the basics in place, we were able to splurge on the cake, cupcakes, and rainbow jello shots from our friend Danielle of Sheila Mae. It was a blast, kids were running everywhere, adults were entertained, and best of all the birthday boy was in complete heaven.

While we opted to host Liam’s birthday at Scott’s photo studio, this look can we recreated in any park setting.

Easy to make rainbow fruit skewers!

Liam was born in NY so I was able to find a large map print that all the kids colored during the party. We now have it at home, which continues to entertain him.

Our party favors were really simple. We found these egg creates at World Market and filled them with an orange, coloring pencils, stickers, and colorful chocolate coins.
