For kids + their grownups… Don’t you love that?
ILLUSTORIA was dreamt up by former children’s book editor Joanne Chan. A bit about her inspiration… A mom of two creative, school-aged kids, Joanne searched for a magazine that could inspire art projects and conversations, one with engaging articles on contemporary artists and makers, one with a DIY feel that could inspire a DIY attitude. When she didn’t find what she was looking for in the marketplace, she decided to start ILLUSTORIA.
With all the interviews, stories, and activities, it’s just as much fun for bigs as littles.
Best part… There’s 64 pages of the good stuff.
Joanne says, As someone who parents in a hyper-digital age where so much is instantly (or aggressively) available at the touch of a button or a swipe on our phones and tablets, I find incredible calm and value in slowing down with a print publication that can be savored, shared, dog-eared, written and drawn in, saved, read in bed or read on the go. Especially now—when there is so much loud, attention-getting, disposable visuals and products to choose from—there is a huge need and desire to slow down and take in meaningful, inspiring stories and art; I think that’s true for kids and grownups both.
