A midsummer garden party + Yeah Rentals kids launch!
Nothing like a simple, laidback backyard party to remind us everything we love about these looong summer days. Our friends and guide members Yeah! Rentals have officially launched their brand new collection of kid-friendly event rentals so naturally a little soiree was in order. The endlessly talented Elizabeth Antonia hooked up with Jacqui of Deets and Things on the ultimate garden party that celebrates the beauty + simplicity of their new offerings. Elizabeth tells us, We wanted to expand our current collection at Yeah! Rentals to include party rentals for children. We love the idea of using more natural elements such as wood, flowers and items from nature for children’s parties. We think a children’s party should delight our little ones but not overwhelm them. I decided to partner with Jacqui from Deets and Things to create a wonderful Midsummer’s Eve celebration with my girls’ friends. We quickly decided to work with Moon Canyon for florals and I love her interpretation of the Swedish Midsummer (Midsommar) celebration which included lots of yarrow and delphiniums (which is also the July birth flower!) A lot of the pieces in this shoot are from our existing catalog (poufs, pillows, and more) and new ones that were inspired by our own home play.
Flower crowns for the littles, always! The wooden playarch in the background comes with silks + clips.
They went with a simple table arrangement for the kiddos with linens and napkins by Heather Taylor and tableware from L’entramise. And just some vintage straw chargers from Etsy!
Sorella Collective whipped up those colorful charcuterie boards using local, in-season fruits and veggies which encouraged the littles to try new things, not to mention the yummy vegan + raw baked goodies from Sweet Laurel Bakery.
The definition of a perfect midsummer party, no?!
Fun little DIY: a wooden coaster with pressed foraged flowers for each place setting.
The idea to have the Maypole was my eldest daughter Elodie’s and the kids loved dancing around it. In some countries the Maypole happens on May 1st but for other countries it is saved for Midsummer. The idea behind the Maypole dance is to celebrate the return of the happy season of warmth and long days. We also used games such as giant Jenga and croquet from our current Yeah! Rentals catalog. We also have included a daybed that can be reshaped into a bunch of different pieces including a fort. It is such a hit!
