Unicorn themed first birthday party
Balloon arches, and a unicorn party theme, can you really go wrong for a first birthday? When it came dreaming up a design for Aris, Lotta of Mint Design was all about finding creative ways to channel the unicorn theme without going over the top. Enter feminine pastel hues, springy decor, and sweets on sweets on sweets. (Seriously, they did sweets in lieu of lawn games… Best party ever!) Let’s get straight to Mariel Hannah‘s photos, K?
Lotta says, A long table danced across the lawn, seating over 50 guests. We actually used plastic plates, cups and gold plastic flatware which we purchased from Amazon! It looked amazing and was kid friendly! Tied into a tree at the end of the garden was a wooden board with a white horse. We actually used this at our client’s Kentucky derby themed baby shower the year before. We simply added on florals and a unicorn horn to create the end focal point of the table. To shade us from the California heat, we scattered white umbrellas on either side of the table.
Violet, peach, pink, and ivory florals lined the table in bud vases.
Not that you need us to tell you, but De Coeur Bake Shop totally nailed the unicorn theme with the cake + cupcakes. The cake was layered with flowers made of buttercream swirls, unicorn dust, and gold accents.
We had unicorn gelato from Gino’s Gelato, which glistened with lush blues, muted yellows, pinks and violets swirled together in a sea of star sprinkles. There was the Mallow Mallow cart which literally fired up toasted marshmallows on the spot—funfetti marshmallows with chocolate sandwiched in a honey graham! It was so fun to see the kids memorized by this stand! We had a cupcake station which was layered with strawberry swirls with vanilla butter cream finished off with unicorn dust… Under a beautiful white arbor cascading with fresh blooms was the baby of honors’ birthday cake!
…And we haven’t even mentioned the donut cart OR this sprinkley number!
