“Wild One” first birthday party
This sweet “Wild One’ themed first birthday coming to us from photog, designer, and mama Jenna Borst Photography has all the fixin’s for a beautiful backyard party—from a summery white + green color palette to all the darling personalized details that celebrate Jaeden’s #1. Jenna enlisted assistant photog Ashley Bartow capture shots she couldn’t be behind the lens for (good thinking!) and did an entire cake smash portrait sesh, too. Nope, don’t think we’ll ever tire of sweet ‘n simple birthday cakes or backyard parties around here!
This dessert display situation would make for a lovely baby shower design too, don’t you think?
Jenna says, We built a wooden wall to be a backdrop for our food tables and gift opening with gold balloons strung across to add a focal point and I thought it was such a fun detail! We also added strands of white lights for an accent as it got later into the evening. On Jaeden’s highchair I added touches of jungle inspired greenery, and I made him a birthday crown out of felt paper. I also made a photo installation of my favorite snapshots from our first year with him!
Jenna took care of all the decor + DIY projects for the party too.

Being a June baby, there was no way Jaeden’s first wouldn’t be an outdoor affair, even though it rained the day of the party. Looks like it only made this fam’s gorgeous backyard *even* greener.
Not to mention a little black and white cake smash to end conclude the day’s activities…
