Mint and emerald ice cream baby shower
This is such a fun baby shower planned by one member of Sweet Root Village, Rachel, for their expecting other half, Lauren. Word on the street is that L is ice cream’s no. 1 fan, so there was no celebrating without it. From there, Rachel made sure the party centered around good friends and food, not just baby shower traditions, since that’s what the mama-to-be is all about. Thanks to Rachel Lyn Photography for capturing those deets!
Sometimes you don’t need to rack your brain for a never-been-done party theme, ya know? It’s all about personalizing it for your own purpose. And how can you go wrong with ice cream, anyway? Rachel says, We set up three ice cream stations. Floats with coffee, milk, or a variety of soda options as the liquid to pair with several flavors of ice cream. Sandwiches that were homemade in all kinds of amazing cookie/ice cream combos by Lauren’s mom and sisters. And lastly, sundaes! Bowls of goodness with all kinds of available toppings and syrups! And just to help avoid sugar overload, we set up a table of light, refreshing finger foods.
They created to-go boxes as favors for each guest, which were a collab between lots of amazing friends: homemade bourbon caramel sauce from Lauren’s mom, sugared pecans from Rebecca of A Daily Something, candied macaroon mix from Buttercream Bakeshop, matching tags and paper goods from Jen of Tonic Site Shop, and more.
Party décor included the already amazing home decor and plant life of Lauren’s mama. Conveniently, the abundance of greenery is right in line with the pantone color of the year! We added a fun monstera leaf backdrop on one blank wall behind the to-go boxes and a few small floral elements in marble vases throughout the displays. Some custom signage from Laura Hooper Calligraphy helped label our stations and from there we let the ice cream speak for itself!
Some for us, please!
Really fighting some cravings right now, friends. Congratulations, Lauren!
