San Diego has so many gorgy backdrops for family + maternity photo shoots, from the beaches to all the flora–there’s a unique backdrop around every turn. Hannah Mann documented mama-to-be Sarah’s pregnancy over in Presidio Park, which is full of nature-y goodness and lots of rich history too.

While I spend lots of time photographing maternity sessions with couples and families, which I love, it was very special to spend time focusing solely on the woman who has spent months growing a new life, the wonder of this expectant stage, and the connection she already has with her sweet daughter that she is carrying. I love the beauty that there is in simplicity, and that is reflected in this session—one subject, a simple white dress, and a natural backdrop.
