Intimate, romantic maternity photos
Mamas, we’ve got such a beautifully intimate maternity sesh from Sadaf Murad Photography today, along with mama Jody’s story that is sure to resonate with so many of you. Jody is a talented calligrapher at My Baby Olive Juice, and Sadaf wanted to capture her among the beautiful lighting and comfort of her own home.
Sometimes all you need is a bit of lace and greenery like in this crown by Emblem Flowers.
Sadaf says, Being asked to document this time is always such an honor, especially when it is someone who is one of your dearest friends. The changes that pregnancy brings to a woman’s body often causes them to feel vulnerable and hesitant to be photographed. Having Jody’s session in her home helped her shed that vulnerability and open up to me and my camera.
Gorgeous shot!
Jody’s story…
I didn’t take maternity photos when I was pregnant with my first child, Olive. And over time, that became something I really started to regret. During my first pregnancy, I think I was overwhelmed with the fact that my body was changing so fast, and that my life was about to, too. I had a hard time looking at my pregnant self as beautiful and strong—instead I felt awkward and scared.
This time around, I feel so differently. I am proud of how my body has changed to bring life to two special little humans. When I see my belly, I’m filled with so much joy, and I honestly feel more womanly now than I ever have in my life. I wanted to capture this feeling forever, and I’m so glad I did. I will always look back at this time of my life as a period of great change, but also of great happiness and contentment.
So lovely!
