That’s what this beautiful, fresh shower for Teresa of Simply Couture Weddings was all about—classic florals and greenery and sophisticated accents inspired by her nursery design. Teresa says, It all started with a small vision. My talented friend Janderyn, owner of Earth and Sugar wanted to surprise me with a celebratory party after being diagnosed while ten weeks pregnant with thyroid cancer. Post surgery, we decided it should be a celebration of life party/shower for baby and I, with all my closest family and girlfriends. Janderyn, along with some help from my Mom and my lead planner Ashley, went to work to create a soiree dreams are made of.

With Social House as the canvas, Janderyn took the large length of the event space to construct a king’s table for my guests to gather for a quiet lunch and cocktails, as Etta James crooned in the background. Ghost chairs, thick textured linens, blue rimmed plates, cut crystal glasses, silver flatware, and so much more were styled to perfection. Simply Flowers did an impeccable job of adorning the table with a bounty of white and gray blooms and an abundance of greenery all in crystal vessels as well as some that draped vine-like in a runner across the table’s length. 

Pretty, pretty!

Mini chicken and waffles, crab cake sliders, steak tacos, paella, antipasto skewers, and tomato bisque shooters… Yep, we’re hungry.

It was such a memorable day from the moment I walked in, that it brought tears to my eyes to not only see my family and friends, but to know that all my close vendor friends cared so much about me to create this amazing celebration of life day for me and my newest son.
