This is a DIY craft you’re TOTALLY going to want to make today, tomorrow, or on Christmas Eve. It takes just a few materials, is therapeutic for parents + kids, and comes out really, really pretty! DeNai Jones, founder and head designer of Petunia Pickle Bottom has a holiday crafting tradition with her boys, and this year, these yarn ornaments were part of their crafting sesh.

Each season, she and her two young boys, Sutton, age 8 and Miller, age 6, spend time together, creating unique and beautiful things to decorate their home. This year, they’re making wintery yarn ornaments, which can be hung anywhere and everywhere- including windows, walls, and of course, on trees.

Instructions:
1. Determine how long you want your yarn to hang down from the twig. Cut a piece of yarn double that length.

2. Fold the yarn in half and lay your twig on top. Take the ends of the yarn and thread them through the loop, over the twig. Pull tight and mess with the ends so they lay how you want them to.

3. Repeat this step until the entire twig is full of yarn. Tip: Increase the number of  yarn you thread at one time, if you’d like to braid them for additional texture.

4. Cut a piece of fishing line (or just use some yarn) and tie each end to each end of the twig so you can tape or nail your wall hanging up from the center of the fishing line
