A DIY hot air balloon baby photo session
Um, this little guy is killing us. Those suspenders, bowtie and tiny teef? Way cute. This photo session, by Michelle Warren Photography is such an easy and charming idea for when your little bébé turns one. We think you guys are going to love it!
It might have been a little tricky to get little Henry to smile for the camera, because the shoot took place towards the end of the day, but kinda worth it, right? That little hot air balloon made by his mama is just darling.
Want to know how momma Kimberly made the hot air balloon?
I started with a 36″ round, white balloon and used organza I purchased from Shindigz party supplies in colors from the rainbow for the balloon cover. I took each color and sewed together strips to fit around the balloon and gathered them at the top and bottom. Then I used twine to secure the balloon to the basket, that I got from Pottery Barn. I used a rainbow felt pennant banner around the top of the basket and sewed small sand bags out of burlap for each of the four corners. I added a thick blanket to the inside of the basket for comfort and support and we were ready for our first balloon ride!
If you’re feeling crafty, we say give it a try! The result is too precious not to.
