Immi’s botanical 1st birthday party

Categories   Kids Birthday Parties

From the looks of it, Nikki has been plotting to coordinate Immi’s first birthday party with her very first newborn shot in the adorable month-by-month series we posted yesterday. Orrrr, maybe she was so excited by how the series turned out, that it inspired the party? Either way we love it.

Recognize that gorgy floral 1? Nikki made the same for Rylie’s boho 2nd birthday party a few months ago! And she created a simple tutorial you can follow in our DIY Projects gallery here.

Love her use of Rifle party garlands, and gold polkas. (Gold polka burlap is from Joanns.)

Claire on Jan 8, 2014

Adorable! And, it goes to show that a first birthday party can be tasteful and still tons of fun!

Stacy on Jan 8, 2014

So beautiful! The photographs are gorgeous. And the comic bubble photo booth is just the best!

Amy on Jan 8, 2014

The giant flowers on the wall behind the teepee and on the mantle are gorgeous! Any DIY pointers for those???

Nikki on Jan 9, 2014

Amy- I actually bought all those. Between work, the new shop and a one year old, even fluffing those was daunting. Hahahahahaha. But there are so many great tutorials online! I just saw a pic that my IG pal is making for her daughters birthday and they are amaZing! Her site and contact info is http://www.jaymeannephotography.com!

Simply stunning! I can't even believe how gorgeous this all is, so inspiring! Thanks so much for sharing. :)

Sarah Jane on Jan 27, 2014

Where is the "one" cake topper from? I can't find one anywhere!!!

Nikki on Jan 29, 2014

Sarah- I actually made it :). Super easy. Some poster board, and exacto knife and some gold pray paint :).

Sarah on Feb 7, 2014

How did you make that gold polka dotted tablecloth! On Joann's website, they look like little 12x12 inch squares. Did you buy several and sew them together?! I'd love to find out :)

Alannah on Feb 20, 2014

Hi Nikki, I love this party, so chic and playful! I wanted to ask where you got the log pillows from or are they inflatables infront of the teepee. I just love them!!! Thanks so much for sharing this party - Alannah

Nikki on Mar 9, 2014

Sarah... The tablecloth is just one long piece of fabric. It looks sold out online, but I've had luck finding a store and it's been in stock! Alanna- they are filled with teensiest little bead things. My husband found them on one of those "member only" I think it's called JackThread. I've seen similar on restoration hardware baby.....but they are probably more expensive!

Kirstin on Mar 16, 2014

Nikki, What did you use for the 'pit' part of the ball pit? I love that it's not the typical multi-colored ball pit. What a darling party! Thank you in advance!

nikki on Jun 5, 2014

Kirstin- I actually didn't have "pit" they were in linen baskets and then when it was play time, we just scattered them on the floor. most of the kids would have been to little for a pit :) it was easier for them just to be able to grab them and gnaw on them...hahaha.

Oh wow what a stunning birthday party! Love the theme and the colours are so elegant and feminine. And a 'naked' cake too, they really are becoming more popular aren't they? Did you make it yourself? Julia.

I am in love with the botanical line from rifle paper and this sweet little party! Can I ask where you got the "You are my greatest adventure" print at the top? I'm due with a little girl in 5 weeks and this would be perfect for her room.

Elease on Jul 26, 2014

Hello! Totally swooning over these photos and this party. Blissful! .... and now I feel silly asking such a silly question... but I LOVE those log pillows next to the teepee. Where can I find those?! Thank you!

100layercake on Jul 28, 2014

Elease- Hi! You can find a lot of cute log pillows on Etsy (http://etsy.me/1py664g). We also featured this super fun camp-themed party a while back that used an entire plush campfire. You can see it here: http://bit.ly/campbday. Hope that helps! xx

Nikki on Aug 5, 2014

Julia, I did make the naked cake!! It's a confetti cake from the box, with confetti frosting. I used spring foam pans for the layers, and then had a cardboard template to cute off the sides.

Kristen on Dec 1, 2014

Absolutely in love! Everything is gorgeous! Can I ask where you bought the flowers on the wall behind the tepee? And do you travel to do other little ones parties?! Kidding, only sort of ;-)

Hi KRisten! on Dec 15, 2014

wouldn't it be amazing to travel and just design kids parties!?!?! talk about a dream!!! I got the flowers here https://www.etsy.com/shop/especiallyforyoubyyw aren't they amazing?!?!

Liz on Jan 10, 2015

This is like my dream for my daughters first birthday!! Every little bit of it is so beautifully done. Cheers to you!! I know it was awhile ago but I'm just wondering where you got the icing flowers on top of the cupcakes?? They're lovely! Also where did you find the gold polka dot serve wear?? It's lovely too!! It's all lovely!

Carmen on Jan 14, 2015

This birthday post is the cutest birthday I have EVER seen. I LOVE every detail. I had one question. Where did you get the sweater from with the cross-stick on it? Thank you in advance. Once again… seriously the cutest party.

Kayla on Jan 25, 2015

Where did you get the adorable log looking pillows?!

Jenna on Feb 2, 2015

Beautiful party? Where is the comforter from that Immi is sitting on in the teepee?

Desiree on Feb 5, 2015

I absolutely adore this party. May I ask what invites went with it?? thanks.

Katie on Mar 2, 2015

Beautiful party! Where did you find the "you're my greatest adventure" print? I've been looking all over for one just like that for our little girls nursery and can't seem to find one as perfect as the one you have!

Melissa on Mar 22, 2015

THIS IS AMAZING! Who did you use for the invites and coordinating items? LOVE all of it!

Laura on Apr 16, 2015

Hi! I am on the mad hunt for that table cloth as I am doing the same theme for my daughter's first birthday. Would you have any interest in selling it?! I have googled it everywhere but I fear I am a couple of years too late!!

Kelley on Jun 19, 2015

Like everyone else, I love your party!! Quick question--who made the cupcakes? Looks like Sprinkles!! Whoever made them, did they make the flowers for them too?! Thank you so much!

Péa on Sep 18, 2015

Hi, very cute ! Where do the big paper flowers (behind the teepee, on the same image than the floral garland from Mazzi Flowers) come from ? Thanks !

Péa on Sep 18, 2015

Oh ! Sorry, I just saw the answer...

Andrea on Mar 13, 2016

This is AMAZING!!! Attempting to plan my girl's one year bday party...can you just come to my house and do it for me!?!? Where did you get the "you’re my greatest adventure" print? Love it!
