Simple, rustic boy’s 1st birthday for Owen
Love the crafty details Shannon created for her little guy’s small, family first birthday party. Isn’t the craft paper backdrop kind of genius? Totally transforms the space behind the buffet table with just a few pieces of tape and a few yards of paper.
Just the perfect amount of coordinating details, if you ask us.
Awww. Always love seeing the sequence of photos from birth to one.
Shannon made the garlands herself too. Pretty crafty, huh?
Shannon hand stamped the muslin bags (with a carrot!) holding <a href=”http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002Z1VH9K/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002Z1VH9K&linkCode=as2&tag=100laycak-20″>star crayons</a> for favors.
She used Kelli Murray’s party hat tutorial we posted a few months ago for Owen’s hat.
S0 cute, Shannon! Thank you for sharing Owen’s party with us.
Photos by Shannon Michele, with the exception of the cake photos, which were taken by friend Corbin Gurkin, (whose amazing wedding is featured in this month’s Martha Stewart, btw!)

I love this so much!! I am 10 days away from my little guy's 1st birthday and I've been trying to craft a lot of it myself. I love ALL of your details!! I have questions: Is that an elephant cookie cut-out? Where did you find that? And what did you do for his smash cake?? It's adorable. And where did you find his super cute but simple birthday onesie? Thanks!
