Picnic baby shower by Borrowed Blu Events
This beautiful baby shower shot by Jen Huang for the lovely Cassandra of Borrowed Blu Events, was so thoughtful in concept and design. When you’re an event designer by trade, clearly your baby shower is well-planned!
Cassandra wanted her shower to bring out the kid in her guests, specifically (and this is so beautifully put!) “that pure creative light and unassuming innocence that we were all born with”. To do that she started with a loose travel theme, since she and her husband enjoy travel so much and they wish that sort of wonder for their baby on the way.
They used map fabric and vintage map paper throughout the party, as well as safari animals set in terrariums for green decor.
A yummy picnic lunch kept the food part of the party very manageable.
Love pre-pouring drinks into jars with lids, especially for a party at a park.
They set up a “found objects DIY” table and asked each guest to get crafty by decorating a heart-shaped piece of bark to use in the mobile Cassandra is creating for her son’s room.
And so Oliver has a keepsake from his baby shower, Cassandra spray painted an old globe with chalkboard paint and asked guests to write him a teeny note sharing how loved he was even before he was born.
Pretty sweet little party, huh? We love it. And it was all thrown at a local park! Extra points for finding a beautiful, free outdoor space
Cassandra’s gorgeous maternity shoot (also by Jen Huang) is coming up later today too!
