Heart-themed 1st birthday for Reese
This sweet heart-themed birthday party comes to us from our friend Meg, of Meg Designs. Her daughter Reese was born prematurely at 30 weeks and spent 2 months in the hospital before she came home. For her first birthday, Meg and her husband threw a huge party with over 100 people and all 5 of her grandparents, who flew in for the occasion.
Meg crafted for an entire month before the party, making everything from table runners, to decor for the backyard, to the guest book pin board above. She used to design weddings after all, so you know, she goes big. And with each project she completed, she felt a sense of calm knowing that everything turned out okay with her little girl.
Since Reese’s birthday is near Valentine’s Day, Meg choose a heart theme for the party, and mixed it with bright, woodsy elements drawing inspiration from the fabric she used for table runners.
Meg found that sweet vintage desk at a thrift store and repainted it to match the party. It now lives in Reese’s room and is a fun play space for her.
Such a sweet and thoughtful party, Meg! Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
Meg used to design weddings under her former business, La Partie Events. But now she’s moved into nursery design and kid’s party design in her new venture, Meg Designs. Excited to see what you come up with next, Meg!
