Most of us reading Cakelet are just starting our families, but this shoot from Christine Choi really resonated with us, even though the kids are all in college. Their sweet mom (Momma Lee) raised her three kids all by herself, after her husband passed away when they were all very young.

And, um, for those of you with more than one child already, you know what an incredible accomplishment that would be. To thank their mom for giving so unsparingly to them, and for raising them so well on her own, her three kids wanted to gift her with this shoot of the four of them. It’s just too sweet for words, really.

They planned a long overdue family vacation, and took a mini road trip along the coast of California that culminated in the neighborhood where they grew up. Christine met them there for the shoot, which was all the more special since she’d known them almost their whole lives and shared many of Momma Lee’s meals together.

Super sweet. Bet Momma Lee was soooo excited to see these photos.
