We spotted these pretty photos of Jen Altman‘s family vacation on her blog and thought it might be nice inspiration for an end of the summer trip to the sea for some of you. Finding the perfect spot for a successful family vacation is so huge! A place where you and your kids are comfortable, where the living is easy, where they have space to run and play… The Pelican Inn on the South Carolina seashore looks pretty perfect.

Having just recently moved to the South, Jen and her family were looking for a quintessential Southern beach experience. She found The Pelican Inn on Pawley’s Island through one of her favorite magazines, Garden & Gun, and it had exactly the kind of magic they were seeking.

As Jen says,

“A privately owned, family run Inn, the owner and her daughters created Southern feasts for both breakfast and lunch everyday that were announced by a dinner bell and best enjoyed with bare feet and hair still glistening with sea water. They accommodate just a few families at a time and aside from lounging in the beautiful surf, catching crabs in the marshes and napping in the plethora of hammocks about the property – there really wasn’t much to do – and it was perfect.”

The food shots are really spectacular.
