Father-daughter photos by Mercie Ghimire + a giveaway
We thought this sweet father-daughter shoot from Mercie Ghimire was perfect for the week leading to Father’s Day. Her husband and daughter share a special bond, one that started at birth.
Mercie developed severe preeclampsia at 31 weeks and was rushed into an emergency c-section. Harper was only 3 pounds when she was born and went straight to the NICU, where her daddy was the first to meet her and hold her. Mercie wasn’t able to see her daughter for 2 days due to complications, but Vivek was by Harper’s side from the start. Singing to her, telling her about her mama, helping the NICU nurses change her diaper – he bonded with her during the first few days of her life in a way Mercie couldn’t. And that was the beginning of a beautiful relationship between the two of them. No, it’s not the ideal way to welcome your child into the world, but it’s amazing when dad has the opportunity to bond deeply from the start.

How great is this!!?? I also developed severe pre-eclampsia (at 30 weeks) and delivered my daughter premature at 2 lbs. Had to wait a couple days to see her and my hubby Ryan was (and still is!) our rock. She was in the hospital for 2 months before coming home. She's now a happy and healthy little 2-year old named Reese. Thanks for sharing your story! And you'r daughter is adorable. XO, Megan Pearson
