Letters to Our Daughters – a collaborative photo project
We discovered this beautiful project a few months ago when we posted these Seattle family photos from Val of The Red Balloon Photography. She and 15 other photographers have collaborated on a once a month letter to their daughters. We thought it would be perfect to share as we near Mother’s Day.
As a parent, you want to write to your children, to record the beauty you see in their little lives. But sometimes everyday life can get in the way. Which is why collaborating with a group is such a good idea. It MAKES you remember to write once a month. Wish we were participating too!
Here’s a sample of some of the beautiful work that has sprung from this project. To read their letters, visit each photographer’s blog below. You can follow the chain between blogs at the end of each photographer’s post for the month.

And if you happen to be a mama to a little boy, some of these photographers have started a Letters to Our Sons thread on their blogs as well. You can start with Emma Wood, and follow the links at the bottom of her posts to make the circle around all the women who are participating.

I have a 3-year old daughter and we're expecting another baby girl this August...maybe it's the hormones, but this made me a little misty. I shall have to start letters to both of my girls. Thanks for sharing!
