Summer is teasing us, big time, right now. And this sunny retro family shoot at the beach in Encinitas, CA has us lusting after long days on the sand with our kiddos.

Jessica wanted to come up with a fun, family-friendly way to take pregnancy photos that showed her bod but weren’t too outwardly sexy. She and her husband were both raised in the beach town of Encinitas, and were set on taking photos at their favorite beach, Stone Steps. They wanted to commemorate their childhood at the beach with their 18 month old, and honor Jessica’s late father (an avid surfer) by using his board in the shoot.

Such a beautiful way to capture their family, before it all changes again. Jessica said this was the most fun, laid back shoot they’d ever had. And props to her for figuring out that the best way to get great shots of your kids is to put them in an environment they can enjoy and be themselves!
