Retro 50′s family photos at the beer garden

Categories   Family Photography

After 10 years of marriage and two children, April and Eric decided it was time to have professional photos taken of their family. They had no formal photography at their wedding so they also wanted to capture some of the classic wedding moments in their shoot – the bouquet, the cake, the toast. Shots they missed the first time around.

What a sweet idea, and probably all the sweeter with their beautiful kiddos included.

They chose The Friendly Spot, a favorite local beer garden that fit with their 50′s retro vibe. It was a perfect fit since most of their favorite activities as a family include beer and food!

April is the owner of 2tarts Bakery, so obviously the cake and sweet are super rad.

They are lovers of books and brought Eric’s vintage Hardy Boy Books he has passed down to Elijah, as well as records from Eric’s jazz collection and other family heirlooms to make the shoot extra personal.

April usually works with her friends in the industry for other people’s weddings, but it was way more fun to collaborate for her own mini wedding. Being the center of attention pushed them all out of their comfort zone, but the photos are more than they had imagined they could be, and they’re so happy to have captured this bit of their life on film.
