Hi mamas! Amanda here, popping over to share some photos I had taken by Elizabeth Messina, back when I was 37 weeks pregnant. Now I have a three week old baby boy! Photos to come of that dreamboat soon!

It has been such a delight to share my budding family’s story here on 100 Layer Cake and now, on Cakelet. From our engagement and Italy engagement pics, to our wedding, our honeymoon, and now baby. I love looking back at the posts and having a record of all of the excitement our little family has had so far.

I’m so happy to have and share these beautiful photos of my first pregnancy. Our road was a long one to get to this point, filled with loss, fertility treatments, and a few years of trying to conceive. Motherhood was always something I knew was in the cards for me, and that was the thing that I held onto those three heartbreaking years of this journey.. that ended with the most precious miracle.

It feels like an eternity that I wanted to be pregnant. I always wondered how it would feel to have a belly, and feel a wee one wiggling inside. Sometimes I would push out my stomach and look in the mirror to see what it would look like to be pregnant. Little did I know that I’d have a real big ol’ belly soon enough! Pregnancy is such a gift, and I am so lucky to have experienced it.

Elizabeth Messina captured my body so perfectly at this moment in time. I always feel like I am the paint on her canvas when she photographs me.. she has such an acute artistic vision and sees the final composition before she even shoots it. A true visionary.
