Pool Party anti-baby shower
Morning mamas! Do you follow the talented Meghann Miniello on Insta? Her super fun lettering has made many an appearance here on Cakelet in the past, and guess what? She JUST welcomed baby #2 into the world (congrats!!!). But before River made his debut, she put on this celebratory ‘anti baby shower’ with her mom + sis in honor of all the mamas that have supported in her first two years of motherhood. As you’ll see when perusing all the photos by Brooke Borough, they created such a thoughtful, fun pool party that pampered not just the mama but all her best pals, too!
Naturally Meghann wanted to make everything as personal as possible, so she rounded up the best vendors with the help of Beijos Events and designed the signage, invites, and event details herself.
They had a little soaking station with aromatic soaking salts from The Little Market.
And of course everyone dressed in their best hats and pool party gear to go with the tropical Sunday Funday theme.
And M’s mom planted and nursed baby palm trees as favors to ‘adopt.’ So cute!
These sweet favors are face masks + facial steams from Urb Apothecary.
Guests sipped on wine from Speak Wines while mama had her fave, fresh coconut water.
Nycole of Helping Jewels offered up even more goodies for the girls, too, in addition to hosting the whole bash. Meghann says, Nycole’s home is decorated to perfection, but the addition of some awesome pieces from Cultivate Rentals & Design really took the space to the next level and set the tone for the whole soiree. I’m obsessed with Mexican blankets, so naturally Gunn & Swain was my go-to for her more chic options that we used as towels. Caitlyn Rylander of Fleur de Rye absolutely killed it with tropical greenery and simple florals—my mom and sister pulled a bit of a mission and foraged for the perfect shade of cantaloupe/peach bougainvillea for Caitlyn to infuse. Brooke Borough captured all the details and good times. My dear friend Natalie of Natalie Dressed, (as well as her mom and sisters) trekked all the way from Santa Cruz to celebrate with me and help!
